Jokes are displayed on Giglish website and related gadgets, widgets and apps under the doctrine of "fair use" under the Copyright Act (title 17, U. S. Code). Giglish selects, screens, and displays jokes from multiple sources a minimum of twelve hours after they are originally broadcast on Television or published on the copyright owners website. The jokes are often edited and modified to fit the space available. The jokes are rated by users to automatically determine which jokes are displayed on the website, on the gadget main page and the app first page. Jokes are attributed to the original copyright owners and all rights to the jokes belong to the original copyright owners. Giglish displays jokes and monologue excerpts that are a fraction of the content published by the original copyright owner. Giglish displays jokes and monologue excerpts after they have already been published in more detail at other media websites. Giglish aims to extend the audience for talented comedians by expanding and extending the distribution of excerpts of their original material and providing links, where possible, to complete original published content. Jokes are always attributed to the original copyright owners. Where possible, Giglish links the attribution to the most logical webpage for the original copyright owner.
